Old Rip Park

Located on Main Street as part of the Eastland Civic Center, Old Rip Park display's the Old Rip statue and the Townsend Bell. The park is dedicated to the Mens' Service Clubs of Eastland.

Townsend Bell
- In 1869, John T. Townsend brought this bell and all his family's possessions to Eastland County from Bowing Green, Kentucky in a covered wagon. Know the rest of the story by reading the marble inscription  within Old Rip Park.
Old Rip Statue
- The amazing horned
toad was placed into the cornerstone of
the courthouse in 1897, only to be found
alive some years later when removed.

The story and events are told on the
marble plaque inside the park.
